Recession: Woman Apprehended For Selling Three Years Old Girl For N60,000




A woman identified as Mary John has been apprehended by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad for child trafficking.


Mary who kidnapped a three years old Oluwasemilore Adebiyi  who was declared missing a month ago in the Alagbado area of Lagos State was arrested hails from cross river state.

The mother of one whose real name is Gladys Austin confessed to the crime. She was barely a week in their victim’s house before she carried out the act.

It was learnt that John had barely spent a week as an apprentice of Tobiloba in the Alagbado area of Lagos State when she absconded with the victim.

The case was reported to policemen at the Alagbado division, and transferred to the FSARS, where they started carrying out their investigation.

According to the victim’s mother, Tobilola she said that she discovered that John had collected N60,000 for her daughter before she appeared at their house in Alagbado. And her daufghter has been sold to four different sets of people before the last person who had her daughter was apprehended.

It was leant that the reason she was sold to four different people was because anyone who buys her always fall sick in a matter of time. So the first person her out having discovered it. Then to the second and to the third but the fourth woman refused to sell her despite her being hospitalized but eventually it was in the cause of her sale of Oluwasemilore that she was apprehended.

She is presently in cooling her heels in police custody.
