Parkistan Court Bans the Celebration of Valentine

Valentine is a time of sharing love and care to those you love but not everyone sees it in that way.

The Islamabad High Court has banned the celebration of Valentine in all public places including government offices in Pakistan.

This ban was as a result of the petition written by one Abdul Waheed who claimed that the celebration is against the teachings of Islam.

The Federal Ministry of Information, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and the Islamabad High Commission have been told by Justice Shaukat Aziz, who was hearing the case, to submit their replies regarding the immediate execution of the court's orders.

Also, the Print and electronic media have been given an order to halt all Valentine's Day promotions immediately with strict monitoring of all mediums.

The petitions called for ban on the grounds that the widely celebrated event encourages nudicty, indescency, immorality among others.
